Year-End Home Visits

Christmas is just around the corner and Group Communications has been busy preparing for the home visits to ensure those in need are remembered during this festive season.

Money collected from the Charity Car Wash and donations from the management have been divided between Sharifah Nursutiana and family, Lighthouse Children Home and Victory Home for Senior Citizens.

On Tuesday, 17 December, Group Communications together with the CMS Outbound team visited Sharifah Nursutiana and family in Sentul between 10:30am and 12:00pm. Sharifah who is a member of the Outbound QA team lost her husband in a motorcycle accident in October 2013. As the pillion, she sustained a broken arm and leg.

Sharifah is still recovering from the accident and looks forward to going back to work as soon as she is able to. She is very grateful and thankful for the contribution which will definitely help fund her and the children’s daily needs.

The necessary items for the other two homes were purchased in the afternoon and delivered to the homes accordingly. This year the homes received all the items they needed and some clothes and books which were collected during the charity initiative.

On Wednesday, 18 December, five Symphonians visited the Lighthouse Children’s Home in Lucky Garden, Bangsar to distribute more items to the kids at the centre. In addition to all the donated items, a well deserved lunch was provided by Symphony to the wonderful residents. The visitors were warmly greeted by the children  and were invited to play card and hand games with them. They then spent some time talking to the children.

As an act of appreciation for the visit,  the children sang two Christmas songs, “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer” & “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” to the amusement of the guests.

Next on the agenda, was the visit to Victory Home for Senior Citizens in Jalan Klang Lama.  Mr. Loo the caretaker at the centre was pleased with the visit and thankful for the donated items which was delivered a day earlier.

Although all three visits were short and quick, the time spent with them was memorable.
