Visit to Pusat Jagaan Kanak-kanak Seribu Harapan

On Tuesday, 18 December 2012, on 11.40am, a group of Symphonians made their way to visit Pusat Jagaan Kanak-kanak Seribu Harapan at Seksyen 25, Shah Alam.

The care center, founded by Mr. Muneswaran houses 29 children ages from 3-17 years old. It has been running for two years and there are plans for further improvements. The centre consists of two separate houses; one houses the children and another is dedicated for studying purposes.

The children welcomed Symphonians upon arrival by shaking hands, hugging the visitors and warmly introducing themselves. Some kids even asked to be carried.

Apart from the donations of school uniforms, story books, stationeries, board games shuttle cocks and food stuff to the home, the kids were also treated to Kentucky Fried Chicken lunch. Before having their lunch, they recited a prayer in a very commendable and adorable manner; they thanked God for all the blessings and praised Symphony for doing a good deed.

Symphonians spent quality time serving the delicious Kentucky Fried Chicken meal for the children and chatted with the kids afterwards.  Excited to be visited, treated and pampered, the kids performed a few dances for the visitors. They danced to “Gangnam Style”, followed by beautifully performed Indian dances, especially for the visitors.

The visit ended at 1.30pm and it was a priceless experience for both Symphonians and the children. The owner, his crew and the children were very grateful with the charity initiative. The visit brought smile and laughter to the warm and excited kids. Even if they just had a short time bonding with us, they made new friends so fast and shared the joy together.

It might be easy to donate, but a visit is the greatest gift that can be shared with those who really need it, try it and you’ll understand the feeling.

Thank you Symphonians for all your support to all the activities for this year, let’s double our efforts for 2013 and make a difference to our community and environment.
