The Prisoners’ Diaries Book Launch @ Putrajaya

On Monday, 17 June 2013 between 11.30am – 2.30pm, 20 Symphonians made their way to the Perdana Leadership Foundation in Putrajaya for the official book launch of ‘The Prisoners’ Diaries’ by former Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad.

The Prisoners’ Diaries is a heartfelt book compiled by Puan Sri Norma Hashim in close collaboration with Viva Palestina Malaysia. The book consists of personal stories, all of whom were written by Palestinian prisoners themselves when they were being held in detention, if not incarcerated for their beliefs in trying to bring about the genuine freedom of their land.

At about 11.45am, Puan Sri Norma went on stage to give a brief presentation about the book project and talked a little bit about the Palestinian cause. After in which Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad was being ushered to the podium to officiate the launch of the Prisoners’ Diaries. Apart from that, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad also gave a very memorable speech. Five books were being donated to the Leadership Foundation in the spirit of goodwill. Buffet lunch was then served to everyone who enjoyed a tasteful meal of Mandi Chicken after a nice group photo was being taken with Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad.

Let us all be thankful for how far we’ve come together and at the same time, lend a helping hand to those who are fighting for genuine freedom.
