In celebration of Hari Raya, the management team held a potluck gathering at the R&R on Monday, 26 August 2013 from 12pm to 2pm. The get-together allowed Symphonians a chance to showcase their culinary prowess as they produced a range of traditional home-cooked delicacies like Rendang, Lemang, Briyani, Ketupat and delicious desserts and cakes. There were about 40 people on hand, including Tan Sri Azman Yahya and En Hamid, to help sample the sumptuous cuisine as they caught up with one another.
Many of the attendees donned their best Baju Melayu, Baju Kurung and Baju Kebaya in accordance to the ‘Malay Traditional Costume’ theme. The combination of both, food and dress together with the Raya songs played at the event made it one of the most beautiful Aidilfitri gatherings at Symphony.
The get-together was also a good platform to launch the #SymphonySaySomethingNice campaign withTan Sri Azman Yahya and En Hamid penning encouraging messages on the posters. As said earlier, this is a campaign to promote positive thinking, tolerance and understanding amongst fellows Symphonians through writing positive messages on the #SaySomethingNice posters, starting from Merdeka Day (31 August) to Malaysia Day (16 September).
To end the festivities, the best dressed male and female were awarded with Imran from FS and Fadila from OA taking the well-deserved special prize. It was a fine way to celebrate the Aidilfitri and mark the beginning of a season of positivity. All in all, it was a day to remember at Symphony.
Stay positive, say something nice and make somebody’s day every day!
